Was remembering these in old days. I’m 75 years old, lost mine thru years. Glad I found them. These do exactly what I needed - speed up the baking process for good baked potatoes. They conduct the heat to the center of the potato which then speeds up the baking process.I have a busy life and I love baked potatoes (both sweet potatoes and yams) and these speed up the baking so I can enjoy them more often with our having to plan hours in advance. I have bought them as gifts because they are so great!!These spikes make a baked potato even better. I plan to keep them out of the dishwasher to keep their shine.Aluminum is highly conductive and rather soft as metals go. Both properties show up. The nails indeed give faster and more uniform baking. On the other hand, the softness requires a little care to prevent bending. Potatoes are hard until baked, so hard in but easy out. I saw one discussion of stainless steel vs Al nails that warned that Al nails could leave black residue in the potato. That reviewer clearly put his/her Al nails in the dishwasher. The Al reacts with the strong dishwasher detergents. If you don't, you will find the nails are easy to clean and leave no residue. These potato spikes are much more sturdy than store bought products. They do speed cooking time and ensure that your potato will be baked all the way through. Dishwasher safe, would buy again.I like how they make the potatoes cook faster and all the way through. These potato nails are great! I bought 4 sets (24), had to buy some for friends that have never heard of poto nails. I gave these a 5 star but that may not be the case for everyone. I read the reviews before I bought and knew when I got these that I would have to make an adjustment to them. When made, they do a ruff cut on the end which makes them very sharp and ruff. You will need to take a file to end of these. Now ladies, you will not be able to use your nail file for these. You will have to go to your toolbox and pull out your "big boy" file, but it takes less then a minute per nail. I put 2 pics up, one is the way you should hold the nail while filing...rest the rist of your right hand on the knuckles of your left while filing, as to not stab your right hand with the end of the nail. The other pic is a poto nail that got "up close and personal" with my garbage disposal. This will not happen with these nails because if they fall in, they stick up outta the sink!? My whole life we have always had potato nails in our house...I just dont understand how most people dont even know what these are and how they always eat potatoes that are hard in the middle? Enjoy!dont buyIdeal para hornear papas en tu horno. Reduce el tiempo de cocción y ahorra gas. Fácil de limpiar si se remoja en agua durante unos minutos. Buen precio. Difícil de encontrar. No para usar en un microondas! They help baked potatoes cook much quickerThey truly work, especially on larger potatoes, and a firmer potato variety like Yukon Gold. Light & fluffy all the way through & I have found it saves 10-15 minutes in the oven when cooking.Cook baked potatoes quicker and they are light and fluffy. Love them!
