I didn't really eat one, but they smell pretty tempting. They stay soft and fresh even when my husband leaves the bags open for a couple days. (Very humid where I live.)My old man Border Collie with bad teeth especially likes the chicken flava, but both dogs like the peanut butter and hickory too.My smarty-pants dog caught on to the fact that the harder, jerky-like treats from Costco had pills in them. He doesn't seem to mind these softer treats and usually takes his pills.Sometimes he eats the treat and flicks out the pill. But he always eats the treat. My vet recommended giving one treat w/out meds first, then giving the treats with medication or even alternating. It gets expensive, so I give an empty pill treat, a treat with a pill, then a cheaper trea or half an empty pill treat, then another treat with a pill.My little collie needs to take a pill every day, I was putting in the back and massaging the throat till he swallowed. Thought I would try the pill pockets. yeah, he had other thoughts. He will eat the pill pocket without the pill in, once I put the pill inside and seal the top he walks away.I even put the pill inside when he was no looking and still would not eat the pill with the pocket. Well back to putting them in his mouth and massaging.Guess I will just give the pockets as a treat, rather than sending them back. At least there only 30 treats and now down to 20 after all the attempts. He’s just so much easier than having to put a pill down your dogs throat. But this Package of these was pretty crushed they were just shipped in a plain bag and they were no longer round just a bunch of little piecesI had first saw this product when I was at my vet and gave one to my puppy and she loved it. When my older dog needed some pills to help his issue I had remembered how much my puppy loved it and it hides the pill perfectly. My dog has no idea he is taking his daily pill. Finally my dog will take her meds without a fight. These are so soft and plyable to mold around the pill. My dog loves them that she thinks they are treat and I have no problem with her taking her meds.ONE STAR for shipping--FORE STARS for pockets--Our dog likes the taste and that is why I am not returning them. They came in a plastic bag which I expected -but were then shipped in another plastic bag that provided no protection. So what I got in the mail on a hot summer day was a lot squashed pill pockets that had to be reshaped to hide the pills. These work so good my dog knew the medicine was inside and still ate itI love these so much that id rather eat these than my food! These work and are a great idea but really are not worth it. I have found a very similar product for £2 a pack so unless it's an absolute emergency, won't be buying these again. It was simple to find through a simple search online. If the price doesn't bother you, these do work and are great but I personally think they are a massive rip off!Anyone who has tried to give pills or capsules to a dog will well know what an absolute nightmare it can be!I have tried everything to get medication down my dog: some work fairly well, until that is the dog realises that there's something nasty hidden in the cheese or treat, and spits them out - quite often on to your carpet! However, these Pill Pockets work. I ordered a couple of packets and can honestly say that all the medication my little Skye terrier is on has been successfully delivered by these marvellous little treats. The way you are able to mould the treat around the pill or capsule is great and they don't fall apart like other treats do.I wholeheartedly recommend them.My dog had gone through some tough health issues that resulted in needing 12 pills a day for a couple of weeks. After never needing to give him pills before, this was an absolute disaster. No matter what we wrapped the pills in (ham, cheese, mince, liver, peanut butter), he would spit them out and refuse to take them. The penicillin was particularly impossible to get down his throat. Finally, I decided to spend a small fortune on these pill pockets, and the struggle was over. He took the pills wrapped in these pill pockets with no hesitation or complaint. He's now almost completely recovered and down to two pills a day. These pill pockets are horribly expensive, but they helped return my dog to good health, so they were totally worth it.our lovely dog has sadly been diagnosed with an inoperable tumour and prescribed medication to keep him pain free for the time we have left. being a super intelligent rescue collie x boy as soon as we hid the tablets in his food he promptly stopped eating it - which added to an already stressful situation. I discovered these by complete chance and tried them and they really worked for us. he has his regular food with our other dog and then later on we play a game together I found this one he always liked and I hide the tablets in the pill pockets and mix them in with other treats and we play ' find it' he thinks its the best thing ever and woofs them all down. if you buy some peamutt butter for dogs you can seal the openings on the pill pockets too. we tried the peanut butter version of these but to be honest these seemed better for us with our own peamutt butter cap applied- irresistible. we take care to adjust portion sizes as needed. Our poodle doesn't like the supplement he needs daily. We gave these a go and so far so good. A few were crumbled on arrival but they are easily moulded around the tablet so that's no trouble to us.I will buy the bigger size pockets next time as his supplements are bigger and as long as he eats all these I'll order a bigger pack for better value for money.
