I’ve been suffering from PF for years but it had gotten truly out of control in the last several months. To the point that I simply can no longer be barefoot in the house. I don’t like having hot, sweaty feet, so I was really searching for a slipper that provided the support one needs with PF, but not one that would feel like a foot furnace. I spent most of the summer in my Birkenstock’s (both cork and rubber) and I was looking at the Birk slippers as an option, also Halfinger as well, but these caught my eye and I’m really glad I chose them. I like the rubber sole, so if I need to go out and get wood for the woodstove from the porch I won’t be worried about getting a cork sole wet with snow. I really like that it has a sleek profile. I have a wide size 9 ft and sometimes shoes look disproportionately big and clown-like, these do not. I feel almost immediate relief after wearing them for only 2 days. They provide just enough support to alleviate pain, but don’t have such a stiff arch that it’s uncomfortable or unnatural. I can’t speak to their longevity as I just got them. But for the time being I’m very happy with my choice.I had my eye on these slippers for a long time before I pulled the trigger. I mean, come on, they aren’t cheap, am I right? Still, all the reviews that I read sang their praises so I finally decided to treat myself and bought the blue Taos. Well, I love them! They are comfortable, offer a slight arch support - a must for me, and have a nice solid sole. My only, little complaint would be the occasional pilling that occurs inside the slipper, causing a little lumpy ball to form. Not a problem as it is easy to reach in and pull off the offending pill. They are wool after all, so I imagine this is to expected, and will Lessing with continual wear as the felted wool wears. I highly recommend these slippers. Worth the splurge! These keep your feet so warm in the winter. Was outside a lot this past winter and even with snow on the ground these was warm on my feetI love these very comfy slippers, and use them indoors only. By mid June there was a hole in the right side toe area. Very disappointed considering they are about eight and one half months old, and cost $147.I have other pairs of Taos wool shoes. I do like these and will keep them but they are way bigger across the top of the shoe that the other style I own. I can only wear them out of the house with heavy socks then they are very comfortable.I wanted to love these as much as my winter Merrill for the price but these do not have much arch support and they look like they will not have the longivity of the Merril mules. sending back and buying a new pair of Merrill Moc'sSuper cute, nice sole. That's it.The wool pills horribly and I am constantly pulling off balls of wool. I have already worn the toes down on the foot bed and they are only 3 months old. And boy they hold stink! For the high price, I expected a better product.I've worn Stegman's and Haflingers for decades and I will remain with those. Never had these types of issues. I wouldn't purchase again.I have arthritic swelling on top of my feet. A neurologist assigned me "homework" of finding shoes that do not press down and cut into the top of the foot. I finally found some shoes I can wear with total comfort. These have enough shape to give support to the whole foot, and the curved line on the top, with no hard band around it, eases the swelling. The wool is warm without being too hot, and while they are of course very casual, I like the way they look with casual clothes in dry places.
